ONE PRESS TO CONNECT AS A PAIR
Letting someone know you are about to stop, signalling a change of direction or simply sharing information with your pillion passenger: on a motorcycle, a few words are often all it takes to make travelling together easier.
Vortex focuses on direct communication between two people. Its new Quick Pair button, dedicated entirely to pairing, starts the connection between two intercoms with a single press, with no need for a long press or a sequence of commands.
Once the devices are paired, a rider and pillion passenger can talk directly. When used by two motorcyclists riding together, the range can reach up to 1.2 km.
“Many motorcyclists mainly ride with a pillion passenger or just one riding partner. With Vortex, we wanted to give them a simple way to stay connected, with an intercom that is easy to pair and fades into the background once they are on the road,” says Vlada Bokza, Motorcycle Marketing Manager at SENA Europe.
TECHNOLOGY THAT FADES INTO THE BACKGROUND
On a motorcycle, an intercom should remain simple to use without forcing the rider to take their eyes off the road. Vortex’s five clearly separated buttons are easy to identify and operate while wearing gloves, with no complex button combinations.
With up to 27 hours of talk time, it can cover several rides between charges. Its magnetic mount lets users snap the main unit back into place in seconds, then detach it and place it directly on a compatible Qi wireless charger. Settings and updates are managed through the SENA Motorcycles app, with no need to connect to a computer.
SLIM DESIGN, EVEN AT ENTRY LEVEL
With Vortex, entry level does not mean a bulky unit. Thanks to its stacked battery design, the unit sits close to the helmet shell. Measuring 18 mm thick and weighing 37 g, Vortex adopts SENA’s new ‘Slim Design’ styling to preserve the helmet’s clean lines and aerodynamics. Its appearance can also be customised with three interchangeable faceplates: silver, matt black or white. A slim, customisable design at an accessible price.
VOICE COMMUNICATION TAKES CENTRE STAGE
When two people ride together, an intercom’s quality is measured first and foremost by how naturally they can understand each other.
Vortex features second-generation 40 mm HD speakers. Advanced Noise Control™ technology applied to the microphone helps reduce wind and ambient noise transmitted during conversations, making speech clearer.

Priced at an RRP of £139 including VAT, Vortex is the new entry point into SENA’s intercom range. Rated IPX7, it is designed to keep working in the rain and accompany motorcyclists on ride after ride.
