Honda’s flagship adventurer, the CRF1100L Africa Twin, arrives in 2026 with a range of updated graphics and colours, bringing further appeal to the enduringly popular adventure bike.
It’s a package that has already won legions of fans, with over 121,000 units bearing the ‘Africa Twin’ name sold since its reintroduction to the European market in 2016. For six of those years since its reintroduction, the Africa Twin has been in Honda’s top three selling models over 125cc.
Mechanically unchanged for 26YM, all the CRF1100L Africa Twin models retain their trademark athletic looks, with the aura and feel of a slim rally machine. The 1,084cc parallel twin cylinder engine still produces peak torque of 112Nm with peak power of 75kW to offer exhilarating performance both on and offroad. All models retain the option of Honda’s pioneering and ever-evolving Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) – an option taken up by almost half of all Africa Twin customers in 2025 alone.
The CRF1100L Africa Twin itself will continue to be available in two variants – ‘Africa Twin’ and ‘Africa Twin Electronic Suspension’. As the names suggest, the differences pertain to the suspension types: the standard model is equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension, and the Electronic Suspension model utilise Showa’s Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERATM), which offers optimised damping in all riding conditions, as well as the ability to change rear pre-load on the move. The Electronic Suspension models also feature extended spec lists, boasting heated grips and an ACC socket.
Sitting proudly alongside the Africa Twin is the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports variant, which offers even longer range (508km against 385km) thanks to its 24.8 litre fuel tank, and a 19” front wheel that further elevates on-road handling.
The 26YM CRF1100L Africa Twin and Africa Twin Electronic Suspension will both be available in three paint options:
- *NEW* Grand Prix Red – with revised frame colour and bolder graphics
- *NEW* Matt Ballistic Black Metallic – with revised frame colour and gold accents
- *NEW* Pearl Glare White – with revised frame colour, Tricolore graphics
The 25YM CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports will be available in two paint options:
- *NEW* Matt Iridium Gray Metallic – with revised frame colour, prominent graphic set and gold wheels
- *NEW* Pearl Glare White – New take on the classic HRC ‘Tricolore’ with bold graphics and gold wheels
