White Motorcycle Concepts Collaborates with Royal Enfield on Aerodynamic Innovations for electric Himalayan test bed.
White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC), a pioneer in aerodynamic ducted motorcycles, has collaborated with Royal Enfield to create an initial suite of aerodynamic elements for the Royal Enfield electric Himalayan test bed.
The partnership marks a step forward in integrating smart aerodynamic elements into electric motorcycle development. Leveraging WMC’s extensive research and knowledge gained developing its patented aerodynamic duct technology, the collaboration focused on reducing drag and enhancing overall rider experience, improving performance, efficiency and rider comfort.
The result of this initial work can be seen on the Royal Enfield electric Himalayan test bed; with the aerodynamic parts being unveiled at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan, where visitors can view the motorcycle on the Royal Enfield stand (Pad 5 – Stand I80). The motorcycle, with additional aerodynamic elements, will then be displayed at Motorcycle Live (NEC, Birmingham) from the 15th-23rd November.
“Working alongside Royal Enfield on the electric Himalayan test bed has allowed us to demonstrate the tangible benefits of advanced aerodynamic thinking in mainstream motorcycle design,” said Robert White, Founder and CEO of White Motorcycle Concepts. “By applying our motorcycle aerodynamic understanding, we have targeted incremental aerodynamic gains across the external surfaces of the electric Himalayan test bed to support Royal Enfield in achieving measurable improvements in efficiency and rider comfort.”
The team has leveraged its learning from the last 5 years of aerodynamic duct development to create an aerodynamic front fender, fork shrouds and disc cover, as well as, aerodynamic devices to better guide the air around the bike and rider. The team have also enhanced rider comfort with the addition of aerodynamic hand guards.
This initial phase of the R&D process, focussed soley upon aerodynamic development to enhance performance, combines, real world baselining, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), track testing, and real-world validation. Ensuring that every aerodynamic component delivered functional benefit, significantly increasing rider comfort and with further aesthetic development will align with Royal Enfield’s design philosophy.
Building on the success of this initial work package, WMC will continue to work with Royal Enfield through 2026, developing further aerodynamic upgrades that extend the gains achieved on the electric Himalayan test bed. These future developments will draw further upon the specialist WMC team and the knowledge gained from creating the proof points for the company’s patented duct technology, continuing WMC’s mission to intelligently accelerate aerodynamic efficiency in two-wheeled mobility.
