WorldSPB: Jeffrey Buis (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) maintained his strong form at his home round.
Having been a double winner last year in the Supersport 300 World Championship, he delivered his first victory in the Sportbike class after taking the lead on the final lap of the race.
Xavi Artigas (MTM Kawasaki) spent the race inside the leading group. The Spaniard came up less than a tenth of a second adrift of Buis but claimed this first podium finish of the campaign ahead of David Salvador (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI).
Championship Highlights
Salvador leads the championship by eight points from Buis. Salvador has had a record of three podiums from three races so far in 2026.
Kawasaki continues to lead the Manufacturers Standings by 19 points from Suzuki, whose first Sportbike win was claimed by home hero Buis.
Kove’s first points of the season, ninth position for Benat Fernandez, means seven manufacturers have scored points this season.
Ferre Fleerackers (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) will start from pole position courtesy of setting the fastest lap in Race 1.
P1 – Jeffrey Buis (Track & Trades Wixx Racing):
“The race went really well. I made a small mistake one lap from the end and I looked behind and lost a couple of positions. I had to fight back but I managed to overtake them on the final lap and this made the win even more special. To take three wins in a row here in Assen is incredible and I don’t really have the words for it. It’s also fantastic to give Suzuki their first victory in the Sportbike category. That means a lot to me.”
