Worldspb: Veneman Delivers Home PoleWorldSPB: Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) claimed his first Superpole in the Sportbike class.

The Dutchman also topped the times in the morning Free Practice session aboard his Kawasaki ZX-6R 636. He claimed pole position with a lap time of 1’42.499.

Jeffrey Buis made it a Dutch one-two having finished six thousandths of a second slower than his rival. The Suzuki GSX-8R continues to impress with three bikes inside the top six positions with Kas Beekmans (VLR Racing Team Suzuki) and Ferre Fleerackers (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) fourth and sixth fastest.

Championship leader Antonio Torres (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) salvaged a top ten starting position in the final moments of the 25 minute session to qualify on the fourth row of the grid but was six tenths of a second slower than Veneman.

P1 – Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki)
“This was a perfect result. The feeling from the bike wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but the lap times and the position were great so I’m pretty happy. I expect that we’ll have a big group at the front in Race 1 because the lap times were very close in Superpole. I want to stay at the front as much as possible and see how the race develops from there. I enjoy this track a lot more with this bike compared to the 300. With the 300 the track feels longer but with this bike you have to work harder and you go faster.”
