Worldssp: First Superpole Of The Season For MahiasWorldSSP: Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) claimed the tenth pole position of his WorldSSP career with a stunning late surge aboard his Yamaha YZF-R9.

The Frenchman, who also started from the front row at the previous round, was in fine form to claim the honours from Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) in a French one-two.

Championship leader, Jaume Masia, was ninth fastest. The Orelac Racing Verdnatura rider was less than four tenths of a second from the pole position.

Double WorldSSP champion Dominique Aegerter (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) returned to the class this season and had his best Superpole showing of the campaign to qualify on the fourth row of the grid.

P1 – Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha):
“I felt really fast today and the bike was working much better. I could push to the maximum and even though I lost a bit on my second run I took pole position. It’s a great feeling and I’m really happy. Tyre choice could be a bit of a gamble in Race 1 so I need to understand things better but we’ll try to put everything together to be ready for the race.”Worldssp: First Superpole Of The Season For Mahias
