The New Contitrailattack 4: 90% Road. 10% Off-Road. 100% Exploring. With the ContiTrailAttack 4, Continental is launching the successor to its extremely successful adventure tire, the ContiTrailAttack 3.

The new 90/10 tyre builds on the strengths of its predecessor and takes them a step further – for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac but want to be ready for the occasional detour off paved roads.

Key product benefits at a glance

The ContiTrailAttack 4 offers the following key features:

  • Fast warm-up and enhanced wet and dry grip thanks to a full-silica compound.
  • Intuitive and predictable handling – wherever the journey leads.
  • Reliable stability in every riding situation – even fully loaded – ensured by state-of-the-art carcass materials and construction.
  • Outstanding agility on winding roads and confidence on fast straights, enabled by Continental’s MultiZoneBelt technology.
  • New level of steering precision for adventure motorcycles with a 21-inch front wheel through advanced materials and a newly developed, cross-ply carcass construction.

“Our full-silica compound inspires confidence at all times – from a cool morning start to a demanding mountain pass in the afternoon,” adds Raphael Michels, Product Manager Motorcycle Tires at Continental. “The MultiZoneBelt technology, in turn, uses its specifically tuned stiffness zones in the steel belt to deliver outstanding agility on winding roads – and composure on fast straights.”

Positioning in the adventure segment: the 90/10 approach

The ContiTrailAttack 4 is positioned as a 90/10 tyre – designed for 90 percent road use and 10 percent on unpaved paths. This makes it perfectly suited for adventure riders who mostly choose paved roads but are always ready for a spontaneous detour onto gravel tracks. Confidence, stability and fun in twisty sections take centre stage, whether on the daily commute or on a motorcycle vacation.

The 21-inch advancement: cross-ply carcass for modern adventure motorcycles

A key highlight of the ContiTrailAttack 4 is the newly developed, cross-ply carcass construction for models with a 21-inch front wheel in size 90/90-21. The latest materials provide a more flexible carcass, a better feel for the surface and calmer, more balanced handling. A revised apex design additionally supports the sidewall and improves stability, while a new innerliner makes all sizes tubeless-compatible.

“With the ContiTrailAttack 4, we are achieving a new level of steering precision for adventure motorcycles with a 21-inch front wheel,” says Rafael Kascha, Product Developer Motorcycle Tires at Continental. “We accomplish this through advanced materials and a newly developed, cross-ply carcass construction. For riders, this means noticeably more direct and confidence-inspiring handling, whether in changing conditions on country roads or on occasional excursions onto gravel.”
