The FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup is ready for launch in 2026. The name and full calendar for the world’s first global racing series dedicated to high-performance Harley-Davidson bagger motorcycles was revealed recently at a Press Conference at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Co-developed between Harley-Davidson and MotoGP, the FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup brings the thunder of race-tuned V-Twin touring motorcycles to premier international circuits. This exciting new series connects MotoGP to one of North America’s most iconic lifestyle brands and marks a pivotal moment in Harley-Davidson’s competitive evolution and global motorsport ambitions.
THE CALENDAR
The series will feature six rounds across North America and Europe. The action kicks off in the United States, home of Harley-Davidson and the original King of the Baggers racing series, before making its way across Europe and onto the global stage – culminating in a championship-deciding finale at the spectacular Red Bull Ring in Austria.
- Austin, USA: March 27–29
- Mugello, Italy: May 29–31
- Assen, Netherlands: June 26–28
- Silverstone, Great Britain: August 7–9
- Aragon, Spain: August 28–30
- Red Bull Ring, Austria: September 18–20
Based on Harley-Davidson’s Grand American Touring platform, FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup race bikes will be radically transformed for speed, agility, and spectacle, offering fans a new experience unlike anything currently on the MotoGP schedule – with its own distinct culture.
Jorge Viegas, FIM President: “The FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup will bring something completely new for both the riders and the fans. Alongside our promoters and key stakeholders the FIM continues to explore and realise new and exciting opportunities and developments that complement and elevate our current championships and this is the perfect example of how one of these shared visions and ideas is now coming to fruition. We look forward to watching this iconic brand racing and seeing the fan’s reaction to this fresh initiative during the season.”
Kolja Rebstock, Senior Vice President, International Markets, Harley-Davidson: “The launch of the FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup signals a bold new era for Harley-Davidson and for the sport of motorcycle racing. This series is about pushing limits, of our machines, our riders, and our brand, on a global stage. We’re proud to partner with MotoGP to bring this vision to life.”
Carlos Ezpeleta, Chief Sporting Officer of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports: “We’re always looking for ways to innovate and expand, both at the track for our record crowds as we continue our evolution, and to grow the reach of the sport even further – staying faithful to what fans love about MotoGP but finding ways to connect with new audiences. The FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup fulfills the brief. It will be a fantastic addition to race weekends for fans onsite at the same time as connecting our sport to one of the most iconic lifestyle and cultural brands in North America – and the world.”
Jeff Schuessler, Global Director, Marketing & Partnerships Racing Programs, Harley-Davidson: “This new cup is the next step in Harley-Davidson’s racing evolution. We’ve seen what’s possible with King of the Baggers in the U.S. and now we’re bringing that same energy, performance, and attitude to the world stage. This is more than just racing; it’s a global statement of who we are and where we’re going.”
The FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup was first teased earlier last year during the Grand Prix of France at the legendary Le Mans, where Harley-Davidson and MotoGP shared their joint vision for a global bagger racing series. The response from fans, media, and the industry set the stage perfectly for today’s full reveal.
Prospective teams, riders, and sponsors are now invited to engage with the series as preparations accelerate for the 2026 debut season.
