Four-cylinder Super Sports two ways: all-new CBR500R FOUR joins updated CBR600RR to bolster Honda’s comprehensive line-up for 27YM.
Honda continues its 27YM model introductions with two significant additions to its Super Sport line-up; one all-new model designed to attract a new generation of riders, and one modernised icon that further sharpens its credentials on both road and track.
The all-new CBR500R FOUR introduces a completely fresh proposition to Honda’s European range. Developed from the heritage of the CB400 SUPER FOUR but engineered specifically for today’s riders, it combines an all-new 500cc inline four-cylinder engine, standard-fit Honda E-Clutch technology and premium chassis components within an accessible and attainable package.
Alongside it, the much-loved CBR600RR enters 27YM with targeted upgrades that enhance performance, style and rider interaction. Building on its proven formula of high-revving inline four-cylinder power, sophisticated electronics and race-bred chassis dynamics, the latest evolution delivers an even more engaging Super Sport experience.
The introduction of these two machines showcases the breadth of Honda’s Super Sport offering. While the CBR500R FOUR is designed to welcome newcomers and younger riders into the world of four-cylinder sports motorcycles, the CBR600RR continues to serve enthusiasts seeking ultimate middleweight performance rooted in Honda’s racing pedigree.
Since its 24YM return to Europe, the CBR600RR has re-established itself as a favourite among dedicated sports motorcycle enthusiasts, with more than 9,600 units sold across Europe. Combining everyday usability with circuit-ready performance, it continues to attract riders seeking an authentic middleweight supersport experience and provides a strong foundation for the latest round of updates.
At the heart of the new CBR500R FOUR sits a compact, all-new 500cc DOHC inline four-cylinder engine producing 51.8kW and 46.3Nm, delivering a broad spread of usable performance and a soaring rush to its 12,500rpm redline. Advanced engineering features including Ni-SiC plated cylinder walls, DLC valve lifters, dual ram-air ducts and a downdraft intake system combine to create a premium riding experience. Standard-fit Honda E-Clutch technology allows seamless clutchless starts, stops and gear changes while retaining full manual clutch operation whenever desired. A 35kW A2 licence-compliant version will also be available.
Supporting the engine is an all-new steel diamond-style frame, 41mm KYB USD forks, aluminium swingarm and dual front disc brakes with Nissin radial-mount calipers. Throttle By Wire operation enables three default riding modes, two USER modes and Honda Selectable Torque Control, all managed through a five-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity and USB-C charging socket. This is packaged in an all-new, mass-forward design which places emphasis on the CBR500R FOUR’s dynamicism and projects the performance character of a larger-displacement sports motorcycle.
For riders seeking a more focused Super Sport experience, the 27YM CBR600RR continues to draw heavily from Honda’s racing expertise. Its 599cc inline four-cylinder engine produces 89kW at 14,250rpm and remains one of the defining powerplants in the category, paired with an assist/slipper clutch and standard-fit quickshifter.
New for 27YM are Fireblade-derived radial-mount front brake calipers and an updated ABS system offering three selectable modes: Standard, Track and Race. A revised front fairing adopts a new frontal mask with integrated spoiler design to maintain aerodynamic performance while delivering a cleaner, more cohesive appearance. An upgraded five-inch TFT display further enhances rider interaction and information delivery.
The CBR600RR’s comprehensive electronics package continues to feature a Bosch six-axis IMU, Throttle-By-Wire control, Honda Selectable Torque Control, Wheelie Control, Rear Lift Control and Cornering ABS, allowing riders to tailor machine behaviour to suit both road and circuit environments. Three HRC Race Kits will also now be available for dedicated track and competition use.
Both the 27YM CBR500R FOUR and 27YM CBR600RR will be available in:
- Ignition Red (Tricolour)
- Mat Ballistic Black Metallic
