Bmw Motorrad Looks To The Future With The New F 450 Family And The Groundbreaking Bmw M 1000 RsBMW Motorrad once again chooses EICMA as the stage for the next phase of its growth strategy, built on expanding the motorcycling community, making motorcycling accessible to a new generation of riders and advancing the technological excellence that has always defined the brand.

At the traditional international press conference, Sergio Solero, President and CEO of BMW Italia, and Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, outlined the brand’s vision, its achievements and the key new models making their debut in Milan.

The world of motorcycling is changing, but its essence remains the same: freedom, passion and emotion. Our responsibility is to support this evolution, welcoming new generations of riders, strengthening our community and continuing to develop products that inspire people around the world. For BMW Motorrad, shaping the future means striking a balance between innovation, accessibility and performance. This vision is fully reflected both in the expansion of the F 450 family and in high-performance models such as the new M 1000 RS. Markus Flasch, CEO BMW Motorrad

Italy plays a central role in BMW Motorrad’s global strategy and has been one of its three most important markets worldwide for many years. EICMA is a natural expression of this importance: an event that goes far beyond a product exhibition and continues to be the leading meeting point for the entire motorcycling community. It is here that the trends shaping the future of the industry come into focus, and here that BMW Motorrad renews its dialogue with customers, dealers, the media and enthusiasts. Sergio Solero, President and CEO of BMW Italia

At the heart of the presentation are three new motorcycles representing two ends of the BMW Motorrad spectrum: the new F 450 family, designed to make entry into the BMW world even more engaging and intuitive, and the new BMW M 1000 RS, an uncompromising expression of expertise developed in racing.

BMW F 450 R: a new expression of accessible riding
The new BMW F 450 R introduces an entirely new offering in the 48 hp sporty naked segment.

Lightweight, agile and intuitive, the F 450 R has been designed to deliver maximum riding pleasure for A2 licence holders, newcomers and returning riders. With a ready-to-ride weight of just 175 kg, a seat height of 790 mm and particularly accessible ergonomics, it is one of the most inclusive models ever developed by BMW Motorrad.

The new 420 cc parallel-twin engine with a 135-degree crankshaft configuration delivers 48 hp, combining exceptionally smooth operation with a distinctive sound. Standard equipment includes three riding modes, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, MSR, DBC, heated grips, full LED lighting and a 6.5-inch TFT display.

Making its debut alongside the naked model is the new BMW F 450 RR, a supersport motorcycle that brings the DNA of BMW Motorrad’s renowned RR models to the A2 segment.

With 48 hp, a ready-to-ride weight of just 177 kg and a chassis developed specifically for sporty riding, the F 450 RR offers a unique combination of lightness, precision and performance.

The new 420 cc parallel-twin engine with a 135-degree offset develops 43 Nm of torque and provides the technical foundation for a motorcycle featuring supersport geometry, a compact wheelbase, 17-inch wheels and performance-focused ergonomics.

Standard equipment includes Race mode, ABS Pro, DTC, DBC, MSR and a 6.5-inch TFT display, while the optional Riding Modes Pro package adds Race Pro mode and a lap timer for an experience even closer to riding on the track.

In terms of design, the new F 450 RR interprets the RR design language with a silhouette inspired by the S 1000 RR, aerodynamic winglets, asymmetrical fairings and a clearly race-oriented riding position.

With the debut of the F 450 RR, the new BMW F 450 family is now complete, comprising three distinct models: GS, R and RR.

BMW M 1000 RS: the world’s most powerful hyper naked makes its debut
The highlight of the evening was the world premiere of the new BMW M 1000 RS.

Drawing directly on the experience gained with the BMW M RR, the M 1000 RS brings genuine superbike technology to the hyper naked segment for the first time.

With a maximum output of 218 hp and an unladen weight of just 196 kg, the new M 1000 RS achieves a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 1.11 hp/kg, positioning it as a contender for the title of the world’s most powerful hyper naked.

The RS designation, short for Rennsport, recalls some of the most iconic racing motorcycles in the brand’s history, including the RS 255 and RS 54, and introduces a new interpretation of BMW Motorrad performance.
An engine derived from the M RR, carbon winglets, a full titanium exhaust system, a brushed aluminium fuel tank and numerous carbon-fibre components define the new M 1000 RS, a motorcycle developed to deliver an intense

riding experience, absolute precision and benchmark performance.

Bmw M And Bmw Motorrad Celebrate 100 Years Of NürburgringThree M limited editions and three motorcycles celebrating heritage and racing

Further enriching BMW Motorrad’s presence at EICMA 2026 are motorcycles that showcase the brand’s ability to combine innovation, exclusivity and a proud racing tradition.

Among them are the three exclusive BMW M Nürburgring Limited Edition models, commemorative editions inspired by the legendary German circuit and produced in limited numbers to honour the connection between BMW Motorrad and one of the world’s most iconic motorsport venues. These models embody the highest levels of technology, performance and distinctive design within the M range.

Displayed alongside them is the striking BMW K 18 Concept, unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. This visionary interpretation of touring combines imposing proportions, sculptural design and a contemporary reinterpretation of the renowned BMW boxer engine, demonstrating the brand’s ability to explore new forms of motorcycle design.

Completing the display is the FIM Endurance World Championship-winning BMW M 1000 RR (FIM EWC), a key contender in the championship-winning season and a symbol of technology transfer between racing and production models. The motorcycle demonstrates BMW Motorrad’s increasingly prominent role in international racing and the effectiveness of solutions developed on some of the world’s most demanding circuits.
These models complement the key new products presented at EICMA 2026, offering visitors a comprehensive view of the BMW Motorrad world: from the accessibility of the new F 450 family to the extreme performance of the M 1000 RS, encompassing design, heritage and success at the highest levels of racing.

A look ahead
BMW Motorrad’s presence at EICMA 2026 looks beyond the current product line-up to the brand’s future development. The exhibition provides an opportunity to preview some of the strategic directions that will shape the future range: a new generation of supersport models, the arrival of a new character within the GS family and the start of production of the forthcoming BMW R 20, derived from the concept that won acclaim from the public and critics at Villa d’Este. This evolution underlines BMW Motorrad’s commitment to continued innovation, expanding its offering while remaining true to the values that define its identity.
