Motoe: - Portuguese Gp - Race 1MotoE: Seven contenders become three before fireworks in the finale for the electric competition.

RACE 1
It was title-decider day in the final ever MotoE season – and it did not disappoint! Fans were treated to two thrilling races at the Portuguese GP, where Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team) ultimately clinched the electric class crown in Portimão.

Arriving as the Championship leader, the Italian could hardly have asked for a better start, converting pole position into a hard-fought Race 1 victory ahead of Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) and Jacopo Hosciuc (MSI Racing Team). That triumph gave him a commanding 17-point advantage heading into the second lights-out of the day. Motoe: Zaccone Takes The Crown In Dramatic Final Showdown

RACE 2
With the title within reach, the mission was simple: finish P7 or better. In the end, a composed ride to P4 was enough for Zaccone to seal the deal and secure the crown. Up front, Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) pushed hard to keep his title hopes alive, but Oscar Gutierrez (MSI Racing Team) snatched victory by just 0.098s as the two pushed each other to the limit.

Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE) completed the podium after drama in the group including a Long Lap equivalent time penalty for Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE) for causing a crash, and a crash for Eric Granado (LCR E-Team).

It proved an emotional and electric final day of the MotoE season…Motoe: Zaccone Takes The Crown In Dramatic Final Showdown

Alessandro Zaccone: the 2025 MotoE World Champion

From Italian national competition to making an impression in Supersport in 2016, Zaccone moved into the Moto2 European Championship in 2018, making progress from top fives to a first win in his second season. That year he finished third, then did so again the year after but after a real run on the top, winning three races and finishing off the podium only twice.
His debut in MotoE came in its second year, 2020, and he won his first electric race the year after, fighting for the title down to the last round before injury sidelined him. He moved to Moto2 in 2022 and scored points a number of times, but returned to MotoE for 2023 as the competition moved to Ducati machinery.

A solid season laid the foundations for another year right at the front in 2024 as Zaccone took multiple podiums and returned to winning ways. In 2025, regular top fives, two wins and two further podiums unlocked the consistency needed to take the crown – and he held his nerve to the last to become the 2025 MotoE World Champion in style.

After some serious ups and downs, the rollercoaster delivered a little magic for the #61’s tenacity. Congratulations, Alessandro!
