Worldssp: First Career Superpole For CasadeiMattia Casadei (Motozoo ME air Racing) delivered his first pole position in the WorldSSP class.

The Italian rider, who joined the team mid-way through the season, has been a strong qualifier this season with a front row start at Misano. His lap time, 1’52.257, was a new lap record in the Supersport class.

Valentin Debise (Renzi Corse) was pipped in the final minutes of the Superpole session but the Frenchman was given the consolation of a second front row start of the campaign ahead of Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team).

A change to the regulations saw Yamaha restricted by 800rpm ahead of this weekend. Can Oncu (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) wrapped up the Tissot Superpole Award for the best qualifier of the season but will line-up fifth on the grid. The championship leader Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) will start from the third row of the grid.

P1 – Mattia Casadei (Motozoo ME air Racing)

“It’s a great start to the weekend and I’m very, very happy with this result. I want to thank the team because they do an excellent job. We know we always have a lot of potential in qualifying and this is a very nice pole position. It’s very important because my starts haven’t always been the best so starting at the front is key. The goal is always the same in every race; I want to fight for the podium. In the last race, we struggled a bit at the start and with our race pace but it wasn’t bad. We can fight tomorrow.”
