WorldSSP300: With ten lead changes over the course of 12 laps of action Matteo Vannucci (PATA AG Motorsport Italia WorldSSP300) was the rider who consistently found his way to the front of the field.
The Italian rider made it back to back wins in the Supersport 300 class as he held off his pursuers by three tenths of a second.
The MTM Kawasaki duo of Carter Thompson and Loris Veneman won a drag race to the line to fight off Benat Fernandez (Team#109 Retro Traffic Kove). The Spaniard finished in fourth position but will start from pole position tomorrow courtesy of his fastest lap.
Title contender David Salvador (Team ProDina XCI) led with three laps to go but the Spanish title challenger ended the race in fifth position. Having spent every lap inside the top five positions he’ll be confident of being a podium threat tomorrow from the third row of the grid.
Championship Highlights
- Benat Fernandez extended his title lead to 15 points despite missing out on the podium. Thompson moved into second in the standings.
- With two wins in a row Vannucci is now 36 points adrift of the title lead.
P1 – Matteo Vannucci (PATA AG Motorsport Italia WorldSSP300)
“I’m super happy because yesterday I took pole position and today I won the race. It was much harder than in Aragon because there was a big group at the front, and I don’t really like those big group battles.”
