The Kawasaki Z1100 is the culmination of the unique performance and styling of Sugomi, condensed into Kawasaki’s largest-displacement naturally aspirated Z model.
It inherits Kawasaki’s unique Sugomi styling, sharp and direct handling, and linear throttle response, and fuses the three to create an irreplaceable experience.
The formidable Z1100 also features an impressive suite of advanced rider support technologies, including KTRC traction control, an up-down quick shifter and integrated riding modes plus a six axis inertial measurement unit (IMU).
Electronic cruise control is also standard and the 5” TFT instrumentation features Rideology Smartphone connectivity further enhance the riding experience. These features expand the appeal of the Z1100 to more riders who want to experience the excitement of a Kawasaki Z Supernaked plus Sugomi-inspired style.
At the pulsating core of the Z1100 is a 1,099 cc ultra-responsive engine. The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four pulls strongly in the low-to-mid rpm range, then from mid- to high-rpm, riders revel in the strong performance and sharp throttle response of the large-displacement engine. Electronic Throttle Valves enable the ECU to control the volume of both the fuel and air for a smooth, natural engine response and idealised engine output. An assist and slipper clutch not only offers a light pull at the lever but counteracts rear wheel hop on down changes thanks to its controlled slippage characteristics.
Harnessing that mighty engine is a highly rigid aluminium frame featuring a high degree of mass centralisation, creating a balance between sharp turning and predictable handling. Suspension duties are courtesy of 41mm Separate Function Big Piston front forks matched to Ninja style Horizonal Link rear suspension.
Additionally, an “SE” Special Edition Z1100 model offers several additional features compared to the standard machine which include Brembo M4.32 front brake calipers paired with Brembo brake discs and steel braided hoses. A Öhlins S46 rear shock is fitted complete with a remote pre-load adjuster while a USB-C port is mounted on the handlebar.
Customisable from a lineup of accessories including front axle sliders, frame sliders, engine cover rings, heated grips and colour coded pillion seat cover owners can make this stand out Z even more distinctive. The zenith of Z engineering, the 2027 Z1100 and Z1100 SE are locked, loaded and set to stun.
Available from October, prices start from £11,099 and the 2027 colours are:
- Z1100: EBONY / METALLIC CARBON GRAY
- Z1100 SE: METALLIC MATTE GRAPHENESTEEL GRAY / METALLIC MATTE CARBON GRAY / CANDY FLAT BLAZED GREEN
*Sugomi describes core performance and styling elements found in Kawasaki’s Z Supernaked models. Imbued with Sugomi, their performance excites; a ride on a Z Supernaked is a visceral experience that stimulates the senses; engine and chassis tuning deliver a high level of control. Sugomi is also evident in their sharp styling, dynamic crouching form, and distinct silhouette.
