Worldssp: Oncu Secures Another Pole PositionWorldSSP: Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) maintained his remarkable qualifying form by claiming his fourth pole position of the 2026 WorldSSP season.

The Turkish rider posted a best lap of 1’28.650 to once again head the Superpole classification.

An early red flag following Alessandro Zaccone’s (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) crash at Turn 10 briefly halted proceedings, but once the session resumed Oncu quickly reasserted his authority. Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) continued his impressive consistency by qualifying second on his first competitive visit to Donington Park, finishing just three tenths behind pole.

British fans had further reason to celebrate as Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) secured a front-row start for Triumph. It marked his first top-three Superpole result of the season and provided an excellent platform for the home races.

Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) and Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) recorded their best qualifying performances of the campaign in fourth and fifth respectively, ahead of title contenders Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) and Valentin Debise (ASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory).Worldssp: Oncu Secures Another Pole Position

P1 – Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing)
“It’s very nice to be on pole position. It’s not easy to put together a really clean lap at Donington because it’s very easy to make mistakes here. I was quite impressed when I saw the lap time. In FP1 we already felt we had good pace and a good feeling with the bike so we just made some small steps forward and analysed what we could improve. It looks like we did a very good job for qualifying and we improved the bike. We need to make another step for tomorrow’s race and improve a little bit more and hopefully we’ll be ready.”
