WorldSSP: Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) finally ended his wait for a 2026 victory after a thrilling 19-lap battle with Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha).
After six podium finishes earlier in the campaign, Oncu secured his first win of the season by just 0.1 seconds, with the lead changing hands five times between the pair.
Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) started from pole but dropped down the order after an opening-lap mistake. The Frenchman delighted the home crowd by fighting back to third, finishing ahead of compatriot Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha). The race also featured an incident involving Debise and Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing), with the returning Spaniard receiving a Long Lap Penalty and eventually finishing seventh.
Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) saw his race end after a collision with Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) at Turn 5. The incident occurred on just the third laps and was subsequently investigated by the FIM Race Stewards. Arenas will be have a medical assessment tomorrow for a right hand contusion.
Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) will start Race 2 from pole position after setting the fastest lap of Race 1. Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) and Navarro will join him on the front row, with Debise and Oncu starting from the second row. Arenas will line up on the fourth row following his retirement.

“After what happened in the Superpole I was only hoping for a podium but it looks like coming from the back works better for me! I’m very happy and I’m very thankful for the team because they gave me a good bike today for the race. During the race, I was just trying to stay relaxed because normally I’m too excited. Kenan taught me how to be more relaxed on the bike and I trained on the bike every day. Hard work pays off and today is very special for me. We’ve been planning to get the first win with Ten Kate all year and today was the day so I’m very happy.”
