The MotoE Championship leader mastered the wet in Q1 and Q2 as some title contenders will start Race 1 and Race 2 from outside the top 10.
The title is on the line in the final MotoE round of 2025, and Friday qualifying has set the grid for both races at the Portuguese GP. No fewer than seven riders remain in contention for the championship, and it’s title chase leader Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team) who will start from pole after coming through Q1. Joining the Italian on the front row will be Oscar Gutierrez (MSI Racing Team) and Eric Granado (LCR E-Team), despite a late Turn 1 crash for the latter.
Second in the Championship, Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) spearheads the second row of the grid, with third overall Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE) forced to settle for P8 after an early crash in Q2. Meanwhile, two more title contenders, Andrea Mantovani (Klint Forward Factory Team) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Dynavolt Intact GP), failed to make it out of Q1 and will have to fight their way through from P13 and P14 respectively.
Catch up with qualifying below and gear up for a title-deciding Saturday in MotoE’s curtain closer. Kick off times? 12:10 and 16:10 LT in Portimao. Don’t miss it!
