Two Wheels For Life Launch Adventure Ride In West AfricaTwo Wheels for Life launch adventure ride in West Africa with the chance to meet the people using motorcycles to save lives
The charity’s new motorcycle adventure ride, Ride The Gambia, is a unique adventure exploring the culture and scenery of The Gambia – West Africa’s Smiling Coast. The ride will support programmes getting vital, life-saving health services to remote communities.
British Motorcycle Charity Two Wheels for Life has unveiled Ride The Gambia, an exciting new motorcycle adventure ride exploring West Africa’s Smiling Coast, where participants will experience sister organisation Riders for Health’s life-saving healthcare transport programmes operating in The Gambia and throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

Bookings will directly support Riders’ mission, and some attendees will also run their own fundraising campaigns for Riders ahead of the trip. This unique motorcycle experience is not just a holiday but a chance for participants to understand first-hand the impact of Two Wheels and Riders’ work ensuring vital healthcare can be delivered to remote communities.
Zoe Herron Coleman, Head of Partnerships & Communications for Two Wheels for Life, said: ”We’re excited for motorcyclists to join us in The Gambia — it really is a special country. Guests will ride through bustling markets and along beautiful beaches at sunset and follow health workers on their jobs as they visit remote communities and see the amazing work they do. We want participants to return home with a whole new perspective on both the country and the work we do, while also having enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle adventure.”

Two Wheels has rides planned for 2027 and 2028, where participants will join small groups of no more than 12 riders for eight days and seven nights of road, sand and trail riding, led by adventure-riding expert Gary Taylor from Desert Rose Riding Academy.
Tickets include flights, hotel accommodation, including an option for one night of rural accommodation, meals, and use of the two-stroke Yamaha AG100, the same motorcycle used by Riders for Health workers across the continent.

Participants will dive deep into The Gambia, a small country in West Africa with over 80 kilometres of Atlantic coastline—visiting bustling markets to be wowed by the local crafts, sampling local dishes and fresh seafood, exploring deserted beaches, connecting with locals, and meeting like-minded motorcycle riders.

About Two Wheels for Life

For over thirty years, Two Wheels for Life has been working with the enormous goodwill of the motorcycle community to make sure healthcare reaches people in the most remote communities of Africa. As the official charity of MotoGP™, Two Wheels for Life runs incredible auctions and events, with the generosity of the sport’s organisers, riders, and teams, to support our healthcare programmes, which operate in four African countries: The Gambia, Nigeria, Malawi, and Lesotho.

By providing reliable transport, medical professionals can reach people whenever and wherever they are needed with care, supplies, and education. Women in dangerous labour and the sick get to health centres or hospitals in time, and critical tests for conditions such as HIV, AIDS, Covid-19 and TB arrive at labs for diagnosis so patients can be put on treatment. To date, over 47M People across Africa have increased access to vital health services because of the work we support.
