Moto4 British Cup: With two wins from two races, Jack Dunabie dominated proceedings at Snetterton as the British Cup enjoyed Round 3 of the 2026 season
Race 1: Dunabie delivers ahead of title rivals
Late moves and late drama: Snetterton delivered the next instalment of drama as the R&G Moto4 British Cup entered Norfolk for Round 3 of the 2026 season. Jack Dunabie (Kovara Projects / RS Racing) took victory on Saturday, delivering his second win of the season. The #63 took victory by 0.085s over Ryan Frost (Fibre Tec Honda By MLav Racing), who entered the weekend as the title leader. Jack Burrows (Burrows Engineering / RK Racing) completed the podium as he carried his momentum into this weekend.
Race 1 got underway on Saturday afternoon, with Dunabie holding P1 at Turn 1 as he looked to convert pole position into victory. Frost attacked on the opening lap, getting his elbows out as Jack Burrows moved into third. Alex Remesal-Lomas (Fibre Tec Honda By MLav Racing) dropped positions on the opening lap, following a disappointing start from the front row. Dunabie quickly reclaimed the lead, setting the tone for the remainder of Saturday’s action.
As the front three began to create a gap, Mason Foster (Mortimer Racing), Marco Holt (City Lifting / RS Racing), Remesal-Lomas and Luke Fitchett (Kovara Projects / RS Racing) were left to scrap for P4. Tyler Humphries (Fibre Tec Honda By MLav Racing) was impressive too, showing sensational pace and working his way into contention. The lap record was also smashed, with Frost setting the pace whilst running in P3.
Further back, there was drama for Thorley Trevorrow (Fibre Tec Honda By MLav Racing), with the #42 suffering a Turn 2 crash – rider OK. Back at the front, it was a true clash of the titans, with tension rising as Race 1 entered the closing stages. Dunabie held the lead on the final lap, remaining under pressure as the trio had some traffic to deal with. It was an incredible final sector from the #63, remaining calm and composed as Dunabie stormed to victory.
Dunabie’s winning margin was just 0.085s after the #63 defeated Frost and Burrows following an enthralling final lap scrap. Humphries missed out in fourth, finishing a further four seconds adrift of the rostrum. Holt rounded out the top five, beating Foster, as Remesal-Lomas and Clayton Edmunds (City Lifting / RS Racing ) earned top eight results in Race 1. Fitchett and George Bowes (A Edwards Racing) completed the top 10 following two strong Saturday rides. Saturday’s thrilling opener set up a highly anticipated Race 2 on Sunday.
Race 2: Dunabie’s double: 0.024s decides Race 2!
For the second race and second day in succession, Jack Dunabie edged out Ryan Frost in Race 2 to complete a perfect weekend at Snetterton. Marco Holt took third, with the rookie securing his maiden R&G Moto4 British Cup podium. There are just 19 points separating Frost and Dunabie in the standings – leaving everything to play for ahead of Round 4.
Frost held the advantage at Turn 1, leading the field as Luke Fitchett battled through the order, entering P2 on the opening lap. Dunabie worked hard from Lap 1, sitting in third and creating a plan – using slipstream to his advantage. Dunabie pounced on the Bentley Straight, attempting to break clear in the opening stages. The top three remained locked together, with Frost also enjoying his turn at the head of Race 2 as Jack Burrows lurked closer.
The #16 entered the podium conversation, bringing Holt with him before things got even better for Holt, lowering the lap record. Dunabie tried to stretch a margin in the mid-stages of Race 2, attempting to claim a comfortable win before the hot pace from the group behind forced the group to bunch once more on Lap 7. There was drama behind, too, with Harrison Day (LRA Moto supported by HV Solutions) crashing out at Turn 2 – rider OK.
Frost, Dunabie, Holt and Burrows shared the lead in the closing stages, building anticipation for the closing laps at Snetterton. Victory would be decided on the final lap as Frost led the field at the start of Lap 12. It was a four-rider scrap, with Burrows striking early at Turn 1, leaving Dunabie with a big task at hand. The #63 responded late, passing on the Bentley Straight to complete the decisive move and win Race 2.
Dunabie clinched victory on Sunday, defeating Frost and Holt, who completed the final podium of the weekend. Burrows missed out on silverware in fourth, whilst Fitchett completed the top five following an encouraging ride from the #7. Tyler Humphries ended a consistent weekend in sixth, beating Clayton Edmunds and Alex Remesal-Lomas as Mason Foster and George Bowes completed the top 10 and brought a close to Round 3 of the season.
With three rounds in the books and Dunabie clinching his third win of the 2026 season, what’s next in Round 4? Brands Hatch is up next as the R&G Moto4 British Cup gets set for a bumper weekend. See you then!
