Worldssp: Contrasting Fortunes For Title RivalsWorldSSP: Can Oncu claimed his fourth Superpole of the season despite a Turn 1 crash mid-way through the 40 minute session.

The Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team rider’s spirits were also buoyed by his championship rival Stefano Manzi’s performance. The Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing rider suffered his worst qualifying effort of the campaign in 13th position ahead of his first opportunity to clinch the title tomorrow.

Alberto Surra (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) was another crasher during the session but the Italian qualified second fastest ahead of Valentin Debise (Renzi Corse).

A stunning lap saw Raffaele de Rosa (QJMOTOR Factory Racing) set the fourth fastest time. The Italian rider claimed the best qualifying performance for QJMOTOR since the Chinese manufacturer joined the series.

Manzi can claim the championship in Race 1 tomorrow and holds a 60 point advantage with four races remaining. He will secure the title if he outscores Oncu by 15 points in Race 1.

P1 – Can Oncu (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team)
“I’m very happy and I’m very motivated because we are doing a really good job. We worked very hard to be ready for this weekend and this is the result. My team did a really good job and we are back at the top. We still need to work a bit more for the race but we are almost ready. Everything can change tomorrow because Manzi is very strong but today I did a very good job. I also want to say it was an incredible step from my teammate Surra. Today we did very good teamwork, and that’s why we got this result.”
