Relentless high-octane action in Valencia as Round 5 of the FIM MotoJunior World Championship concludes in style.
Carlos Cano continues his meteoric rise in the Moto3 Junior World Championship while Alvaro Lucas is reined in by Lorenzo Pritelli in the Moto4 European Cup under the fierce Valencian sun at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
Moto3 Junior World Championship
– Carlos Cano (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) relished a perfect weekend in Valencia. Starting from pole position, he claimed a sensational win in Race 1 and was pushed all the way in a hard-fought Race 2 battle by Fernando Bujosa (AC Racing Team).
– Finishing just behind in both races was Cano’s Kyrgyzstani teammate at Aspar, Yaroslav Karpushin (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team).
– Another Aspar rider, Giulio Pugliese (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team), finished in P4 in both encounters. Today’s results mean that the team now have a 1-2-3 in the Moto3 Junior World Championship standings.
– Making his Moto3 Junior World Championship debut, Johnny Garness (GRYD Racing) made a stunning return to competition after over three years of absence. The young Brit finished just outside the points in P18 in Race 1.
Moto2 European Championship
– After a difficult qualifying, reigning Moto2 European Champion Milan Pawelec imposed himself in Valencia. Starting from the third row on the grid, he battled to the front before the race was red-flagged. After the restart, the polish rider held off his challengers to win and extend his lead at the top of the 2026 standings.
– Pawelec was joined on the podium by Harrison Voight (Cardoso Racing), who sealed a deserved podium for the first time since 2023. Completing the rostrum was Alessandro Morosi (Eagle-1).
– Unai Orradre (Momoven Racing) had issues from the start and had to begin the sole Moto2 ECh race of the day from pit lane. While starting promisingly, the Spaniard saw a black flag and had to withdraw from proceedings.
– Eric Fernandez (Fau55TeyRacing) also failed to complete the race after appearing to suffer with some technical issues, before crashing out of contention.
Moto4 European Cup
– Alvaro Lucas (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) took the opening win of the weekend in Race 1, after an action-packed battle ended with last-corner drama as Edoardo Savino (Leopard Junior) crashed out of the leading group.
– Fynn Kratochwil (Snipers IGAX Team) finished just 0.356s behind the Spaniard to take his maiden podium in the class, ahead of Lorenzo Pritelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) in third.
– Pritelli went on to take victory in Race 2 ahead of Edoardo Savino (Leopard Junior), with last-lap drama bringing out the red flags.
– Alvaro Lucas rounded out the podium in third, having been denied his first championship match point of 2026.
Stock European Championship
– French rider Lorenzo Fellon (SF Racing) converted pole position into back-to-back victories, fending off Jacobo Hinojosa (Futurotel Face Racing) to take the championship lead from Yeray Ruiz (Team Honda Laglisse).
– Ruiz charged from P18 on the grid to finish fourth, narrowly missing out on the podium after losing an epic last-lap battle with Alberto Garcia (Top Surface Aspar Team) for third.
